Screen recorder, the private way
- Your camera in the videoPut your webcam in any corner, small, medium or large, and move it while you record. Or record just the camera.
- A teleprompter on topRead your script from a small window that floats above everything, near your camera. It isn't in the video when you record a tab or a window.
- Nothing uploadedThe video is made and kept in your browser, and saved every second, so a closed tab can be recovered. Download it as WebM or MP4.
- Cut, caption and shareCut anywhere, add captions, save it as MP4 for any player or turn a clip into a GIF, right after you stop. Or share a link people can comment on, free with an account.
Questions and answers
Is the screen recorder free?
Yes. Recording, the webcam, the teleprompter, cutting, captions and MP4 or GIF downloads are free, with no account and no watermark. Share links are free too, with a free account; Scrolvo Pro keeps them longer.
Are my recordings uploaded?
No. The video is recorded and kept in your browser, and only leaves your computer when you download it or create a share link.
Is this a free Loom alternative?
Yes, for recording on your own: there's no 5-minute limit, no 25-video cap and no account needed to record, and MP4 downloads are free. Share links with comments and reactions are free with an account. Loom is still the better fit for a team library, viewer analytics and integrations. Can I record my screen and webcam at the same time?
Yes. Turn on the camera and pick a corner and size; your webcam is drawn into the video. This works in Chrome and Edge. In other browsers you can record the screen, or the camera on its own.
Is there a time limit?
No. Recordings can be as long as your computer has room for. Very long recordings take more disk space, so download them when you're done.
What if I close the tab while recording?
The recording is saved every second. Open the recorder again and it offers to recover what was recorded.
Which browsers does it work in?
Chrome and Edge on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS work best. Phones and tablets can't record the screen from a web page.
