FAQ

Questions and answers

Which videos can it open?

MP4, WebM, MOV and MKV, including screen recordings from Scrolvo, OBS, a Mac or an iPhone. iPhone videos recorded in HEVC open where your browser can read HEVC; if it can't, the page says so instead of making a broken GIF.

How long can the GIF be?

Up to 30 seconds. GIFs get very large beyond that; for longer clips, an MP4 is smaller and looks better.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The GIF is made in your browser.

How do I make the GIF smaller?

Lower the width or the frame rate, or shorten the clip. 640 pixels wide at 10 frames a second suits most screen recordings.
