A FireShot alternative with free scrolling-area capture
Scrolvo is a free Chrome extension that takes full page screenshots like FireShot, and also captures just the chat, feed or panel that scrolls inside a page, which FireShot keeps for its Pro upgrade. It adds autoscroll and a free screen recorder with camera and mic, and its editor runs in the browser on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS, not only on Windows.

What Scrolvo does differently
Scrolling areas are free
A chat, feed, inbox or dashboard panel that scrolls inside the page is captured from top to bottom on the free plan. Choose Scrolling area, click the part that scrolls, check the preview in the side panel and capture the whole thing as one image.
An editor that runs anywhere Chrome does
Scrolvo's editor is a web page, so cropping, arrows, boxes, text, blur, highlighter and numbered steps work the same on a Mac, a Linux machine or a Chromebook. It's part of Scrolvo Pro, and it also edits any other image you open in it.
A screen recorder in the same extension
Record a tab with its sound, your microphone and a webcam bubble, or a page scrolling by itself from top to bottom. Trim it, save it as MP4 or turn a few seconds into a GIF, for free.
Autoscroll and sticky headers
Scrolvo scrolls pages for you while you read, from 40 to 4000 pixels per second, with looping. With Scrolvo Pro, fixed headers and banners appear once in a full page screenshot instead of repeating down the image.
When FireShot may suit you better
- You capture every open tab at once, or a list of URLs in a batch.
- You need PDFs with live links and searchable text, or send captures to OneNote, email or the clipboard.
- You'd rather pay once: FireShot Pro has a lifetime licence.
- You also use Firefox, Edge or Safari. Scrolvo's extension is for Chrome; only its free web tools run in Edge too.
Questions and answers
Is Scrolvo free like FireShot?
Yes. Full page, scrolling area and visible area screenshots are free, up to 150 shots per capture. Capturing, autoscroll, screen recording and PNG, JPG and PDF downloads need no account. Scrolvo Pro, $10/month or $100/year, adds the editor, blur, sticky header removal, longer share links and captures up to 1000 shots long.
Can Scrolvo capture a scrolling area without paying?
Yes. Choose Scrolling area, click the chat, feed or panel and press Capture the whole area. Scrolvo scrolls just that part from top to bottom and stitches it into one image, on the free plan.
Does Scrolvo's editor work on a Mac or on Linux?
Yes. The editor opens in a browser tab on scrolvo.appzlr.com, so it works wherever Chrome runs: Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. Marking up and blurring screenshots is part of Scrolvo Pro; saving a capture as JPG or PDF from the editor is free.
Can I use Scrolvo and FireShot together?
Yes. They don't interfere with each other. Each one opens from its own toolbar icon.
Does Scrolvo upload my screenshots?
No. Screenshots are made on your computer, and a file only leaves your computer when you make a share link (free with an account), or send it for an AI edit on Pro + AI.
